Picture Stories #25 - A Fisherman's Life
I had recently mentioned the famous 'Fishing Nets 🎣' of Kerala and discussed about fishing being an important activity in this charming and beautiful southern state of India. Well, I would like to give a glimpse of another interesting aspect of the fishing culture in Kerala with the below photos that highlight the life of a simple fisherman:
Compared to the big boats and fancy fishing gear that are available in today's day and age, these fisherman who have access to limited resources are going about doing their thing in their simple little boats. The above photo especially puts things into perspective, where the small boat is just a minute part of the vastness and expanse of the waters. People adapt and acclimatize themselves according to their environment and needs. So, it is certainly appreciable what these fishermen do for their livelihood, and kudos to them for their grit and determination.

Makes me want to pick up fishing again. I'd love to see some of the fish you can catch if you revisit this. Love to know what dishes are commonly made with the catch
