Where can I get high-quality images for my articles?

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

Quite often, when you write an article on your blog, the question arises: "What image to insert here?"

Earlier I searched for them in Google or Yandex.
But the images there, if they fit the topic, they are of poor quality.
And more often it is impossible to find something necessary.

So where do you take quality photos?

You may already have seen watermarked photos in Google.
Something like this:
iStock photo

What does the watermark in the photo say?

It means that the photo is taken from the iStock photo bank (in this case).

Photobanks (they are also called photostocks, microstocks and simply drains) are places where authors post their works for sale.
Each uploaded work is checked by a team of moderators who will not miss a single bad image.

Here are the basic large microstocks and their prices:

  1. iStock
The cost of one photo - 11$
  2. Shutterstock
The cost of one photo - 9.8$
  3. Depositphotos
The cost of one photo - 5$
  4. Adobe Stock
The cost of one photo - 2.87$

For each, there are also monthly and annual subscriptions, at which the average price is ~ 0.4 $ for one image. However, with this you will need to buy 750 images per month, which is rarely needed.

I do not like the prices, it's too expensive.

Yes, I am the same as you. Therefore, I was looking for ways how to get images for free, or at least not so expensive.
I will not advertise, so if you are interested, write to me at Facebook or Telegram.
