This second part of the series of photographs about the visit to the Pergamon museum is dedicated to Greece and more precisely to the city of Miletus. In this city of the Ancient Greece there was a market whose door was built in the second century BC.

This door was destroyed by an earthquake in the 10th or 11th century and in the early 1900s it was excavated, rebuilt and put on display in the museum. Its reconstruction lasted 4 years, from 1925 to 1929.

Absolutely Amazing these old wall and statutes. I suppose they were brought into the museum, the wall I mean, or did they build the museum around the old wall?

They brought the pieces and built the wall inside the Museum. Thanks for your comment @edje glad you like the photos :)
