Today I want to share a few of the photographs I took when I visited the Soviet Soldiers Memorial in Treptower Park, Berlin.
Its construction was completed in 1949 and was carried out by the Soviet army forces based in Berlin to honor the soldiers of the Red Army fallen in the fight.
As an interesting fact the Soviet war memorial was, in fact, a point of negotiation of great importance for the Russian part in the treaty for the German reunification. The Federal Republic of Germany undertook to maintain the monument in good condition indefinitely. And any change in monuments requires the approval of the Russian Federation.
The monument is immense as they are a series of statues and a park that surrounds them. One can have a good time more than an hour walking around looking at it.Worth the visit if you are in that area of the city.
