Never heard of Garrincha remember Pele of course just never been much of sports fan with the exception of boxing
if you speak with the older generation of Brazilians you will find that most of them consider Garrincha the best player ever, not Pele.
he was not nearly as marketable as Pele, died as a result of being an alcoholic, was a terrible public speaker, kind of a slow talker and had a physical deformity so the Federation chose to promote Pele instead of him, especially after his death.

Garrincha was a great footballer. He was known for his movements on the field.Dribbling that left the opponents on the ground.

I personally think that Garrincha was a better player than Pelé. Pelé always had a way to promote himself. Better than Garrincha did. I think that at the moment Pelé is very controversial person.
