"A Picture Story" My Journey Back To My College

in #photography5 years ago

Living in a country that frowns on photography it's satisfying to actually take shots of my journey from my home back to college. The route is from a place called alagbado to a place called ikorodu, it's actually funny that everyday life can definitely be individually interesting based on experience and location infact I have had the opportunity to actually look at how detailing some things we do in life can be thrilling to someone who's not used to seeing a particular place. Nigeria is an interesting place and this pictures are my route, it's a 3 hours journey and here are the captures I could managed without raising eyebrows as to the purpose why I'm taking those pictures.

Here's is an overhead bridge that also serves as pedestrian crossing or boulevard it's separates two major roads and reduces the chances accident

Ascending down the overhead bridge and I notice it's a beautiful sight, imagine if this was a drone shot, it's awesome. This place is called ojota Bus Stop.

What do you know? Here's a cacophony of people on a really busy Sunday afternoon.

These are street wares displayed on the bare floor, most Nigerians are traders and it's often colourful when you pass by watching those men and women displaying the beauty.

This is absolutely the best shot, look at those long buses and the capture from that amazing height, it brings a feeling of nostalgia and its a beauty. That please is via ikorodu a well government tarred road with Government buses.

This shot was from a ground level and I'm happy to have taken this. The second picture is on the move, the huge building is one of the commercial banks in Nigeria. Incidentally it's also my bank.

This shot is from a commercial bus I took

This is a police checkout for traffic as you can see, there's filth beside the Booth it shows that there's ugliness in a place that's beautiful.

And finally here's a tuk tuk shot, we call it keke napep one of the most easiest way of transportation in Nigeria.

Sort:

In Indonesia we also have street traders like that !
I wonder, was it a cloudy day or was it smog?

It was actually a really foggy day, we're in a season called hammartan do it's always foggy and Cold.

Yellow buses and keke so I'm guessing Lagos.

You bet man hahaha it's Lagos, where are you you based?

Cool. I'm based in Bayelsa but I'm currently schooling in Kaduna and traveled to Jos for the holiday because the journey to Bayelsa is too expensive.

Chai transport money no be beans, I school and base in Lagos bro it's cheaper and better you know

Yeah, man. I get that. I did my first degree in Uniben, back then traveling wasn't so hard.
I decided to try north after experiencing NYSC in Jos and fell in love with these parts.

I'm guessing one of the reasons you fell in love with the north was the women too? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣4

hahahaha. That was a key reason but I also liked the life here. Food and transportation are cheap, people are nicer than the news portrays as well. It's an experience man

Lol it's really tragic new we hear about the north but I think their women are hardly materialistic then the ones we have in Lagos
