Actually I wanted to take new water drop photos today after yesterday's have been too noisy in my eyes, but my wife said the dining table stays clean today 😉 |

First I started with clear water yesterday, but the drops were so colorless;) So I mixed blue food coloring into the water, but I didn't really like it, ... | Zuerst habe ich gestern mit klarem Wasser angefangen, aber die Tropfen waren so farblos ;) Also habe ich blaue Lebensmittelfarbe ins Wasser gemischt, aber so richtig gefallen hat mir das dann auch nicht, ... |

In the first photos, the drops have still come out of the water in pink, but later all of the water turned purple and the photos were somehow boring again. | Auf den ersten Fotos sind die Tropfen noch in Pink aus dem Wasser herausgeschleudert worden, aber später hat sich das ganze Wasser in Lila verfärbt und die Fotos sind dann wieder irgendwie langweilig einfärbig geworden. |

Next time I would like to try dropping drops on drops to achieve more beautiful effects. | Nächstes Mal möchte ich gerne versuchen, Tropfen auf Tropfen fallen zu lassen und so schönere Effekte zu erzielen. |

My setup: Blood bags - Halloween gadgets from Amazon, simple infusion system from the pharmacy, cheaper Walimex Lightstand from Amazon to hang up the drip system, Godox flash and radio transmitter, white plastic bowl, water, food coloring, tripod and remote control for the camera, SIGMA 105mm 1:2,8 DG MACRO HSM lens. | Mein Setup: Blutbeutel - Halloween Gadgets von Amazon, einfaches Infusionssystem aus der Apotheke, billiger Walimex Lightstand von Amazon zum Aufhängen des Tropfsystems, Godox Blitz und Funksender, weiße Plastikschüssel, Wasser,Lebensmittelfarbe, Stativ und Fernbedienung für die Kamera, SIGMA 105mm 1:2,8 DG MACRO HSM Objektiv. |
All photos were shot with the Canon EOS R and one of these lenses: Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS II USM, Canon EF 16-35mm 1:4L IS USM, SIGMA 105mm 1:2,8 DG MACRO HSM, SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM C. I wasn't sure how to explain the image I liked the best so this is the one;
I like how the drop seems to be totally hovering over the water, and the water is being displaced below it like a s if the drop is forcing the water down and out via some sort of anti gravity propulsion system. No secondary splashing or anything just the drop and displaced water, very nice shot.
Yes, I think this one is my favorite image too, because the drop is quite centered over that pit in the water, but I would never have had such an explanation as you have, although after reading your explanation and looking once again at the photo I do have to agree with you - it really looks like you say ... what a cool photo I have made ;)

I agree with you and @bashadow, this is my favourite picture too.
I always wanted to try to photograph droplets, but don't have any macro lens.

Thank you very much my friend - I'm so glad I could save some of the photos including this one, which I have seen so many times when I edited it, but just a few words helped to see it completely different 🙂
I don't think you need a macro lens to try it. Of course, if you want to have the droplets very big on the photo a macro lens is quite handy to have, but I think more important is a good system to let the drops fall constantly and as fast as you want. Therefore my cheap 90-cent-infusion-system is not really the best ;)

I think these are awesome, love them all, I must look up the blood bags and see what I can find
in days of old there was !COFFEEA and !BEER, which is kind of !DERANGED when you think about it
It makes a lot of fun, and if you have the correct camera settings you'll also have fun seeing the photos on the computer monitor and don't need to edit that much until you kind of like them ;)

Most likely that will be later this year, no time now, and over the warmer months i will be outside shooting more so a project for my new place possibly next winter
