It's hard to think when storms are all around you. Lightening rips the black night apart; thunder echoes in your bones. Wind tears around your home, finding tiny fingerholds in the spaces under the doors, around the eaves, like a wild animal circling, trying to get in.

But the morning sun finds you again, still alive. Still hoping. Still feeling wonder at the contrast. The clear blue sky holds no memory of the angry night. Morning sun caresses every leaf, promising better days ahead.

I found this leaf, drenched with rain, but still pressing up towards the light. Couldn't help but capture it.
