Molly-Booby Caterpillar (Original photo)
This colourful caterpillar turns into a big gray moth colloquially known as a 'Molly-Booby'. The "actual" name is "Giant Gray Sphinx Moth".
Local folklore says that these moths, when found inside of the house, are spirits of deceased family members coming back to visit and so they mustn't be harmed.

The caterpillars absolutely destroy frangipani trees, just devour them.
To get an idea of the size, here is a photo of me holding one a couple years ago.
