Vehicle cemeteries are those places where vehicles will die slowly, until slowly discarded.

These decomposing vehicles can often be a disturbing sight and many of the largest car cemeteries have some vastly strange stories.

Train cemetery, Bolivia.

At the top of the Andes, is the salar de uyuni, the largest salar in the world, in 1888 the booming local mining industry invited the British engineers to build a railway network that stretched to the Pacific.

In spite of the constant sabotage of the local Aymaras who saw the railroad as a threat to their way of life the lines were completed in 1892 nevertheless years later the mining economy had collapsed because the mineral deposits were exhausted.

And as the railroad fell into disuse many of the steam trains were simply abandoned in the saline, even nowadays I combierte in a strange spectacle.

These trains do not have the security of care and are at the mercy of criminals, but there are plans by the government to turn it into a museum.

Car Cemetery in Chatillon, Belgium

Until recently, the deep woods around the small Belgian town of Chatillon hid four cemeteries of cars containing more than 500 vehicles, slowly being covered by the muso and the Moor.

The story goes that the cemetery began at the end of World War II, when American soldiers who could not afford to send their cars back home simply left them in the woods.

Most of the cars were highly collectible and as such a large number of pieces missing were either rescued by collectors or taken over by the scavenger hunters looking for trinkets.

Cemetery of Nouadhibou, Mauritania

This place offers excellent protection for ships, and to protect itself from the Atlantic and is the gateway to some of the best fishing places in the world.

The iron ore mined in the vicinity was exported through the port making it a smaller trading center.

Locals began to abandon the obsolete and unwanted vessels in the shallow water of the village in a short time the boats began to arrive from all over the world.

Soviet submarines on the Kola peninsula, Russia

Located inside the arctic polar circle in the extreme north of Russia is a Soviet submarine cemetery, from the 70's military submarines many of them nuclear propulsion were simply abandoned on the Kola peninsula.

The Soviet shipyards seemingly occupied by the old submarines to be replaced in service by the new ones.

Access to the area is prohibited without a permit, so information on the cemetery is still limited, it is also known that some of the submarines were finally scrapped in the 1990s amid concerns about water pollution

Barry, United Kingdom

Years ago the newly nationalized British railways announced a plan for the scrapping of a broad swath of their aging fleet, due to the large amount of rolling stock for the scrap British railways were unable to cope with and many of the trains were sold To the private guards.

Among them was the scrap yard of the Barry brothers in southern Wales at first the steam locomotives were cut shortly after arriving but in the autumn they had decided to concentrate on the easier work of having to discard the large number of wagons That rolled in the yard.

The rusty steam locomotives were left to the intersection where they quickly became a popular tourist attraction in Barry.
