The Hills of Jerusalem 🌀 (Original Photos)

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Just a few steps away from the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem, homes are proudly constructed on the hill that is closest to the Temple Mount. That hill or mountain on the left, is called the Mount of Olives.

Near those gates, and atop the Old City walls on Mount Moriah, we can see the new city meet the old. It's only one street away!

The greening of the desert hills surrounding Jerusalem has been slowly happening since the mid-late 1800's.

From the edge of the Old City again, and early in the morning, you can hear the roosters awaken one at a time, as their voices move and call out across the valley and hills to each other.

I hope you enjoyed a little trip!

The smells and sounds are (mostly) amazing too!

I've heard and read about the Mount of Olives ever since my childhood. Thank you for posting such lovely photos. Thanks for putting them here at full resolution, as I was able to open them in a separate window and zoom in for more detail. 😄😇😄

@creatr

What are the words in the upper right and lower left corners of the images?

Very welcome and thanks for stopping by! I'm so glad you enjoyed and could explore the photos!

The word on the bottom left is my name, "Melech," and top right is an acronym for asking G-d for blessings or thanking Him, "Baruch HaShem..."

Thank you for the interpretation, and once more for the lovely photos. ;)

You're very welcome! Thanks for stopping by, appreciating and asking^^
