Dark Queen

It's been a long time since my last story - a whole month. And all this time I tirelessly continue to take pictures several times a week of time does not remain for anything else. But thanks to this, new opportunities opened up for me and some successes were achieved. And I will tell you all about this very very soon :)

But let's start about everything in order - "DAS MODEL". Das, this is one of the largest and most popular international Russian-language contests of such a plan. There is a very high level regarding everything, each person's work, that model, photographer, make-up artist or hairdresser. Teams from Moscow and St. Petersburg sometimes attract even producers or planners of filming, which for us, provincials, is a bit strange and new :) Therefore, it is sometimes very difficult to get around the teams from the "capitals" spinning in the center of the fashion industry, to find understanding among the viewers (since we are not known to anyone) and the like.

The rules are very simple: first, there is a submission of applications for participation, which can last several months. Then they give the first, of three qualifiers, the task. Usually, the task is given only a week, but most often, the very first task is given in a few weeks or a month. After that, part of the participants is expelled, as in the second qualifying round. Since the third task is no longer deducted, but already gaining in the season. On average, there are 10-20 girls.

But nevertheless, the very first time I participated in Das a couple of years ago, I immediately managed to hold a model in season, albeit with great effort. But because of disagreements, after the first main task, I refused to participate and left the team. After, I tried to get through there twice, in the men's season with Andrei, and in the women's season with Nastya. But it did not work. With a new camera and a very strong team, Natasha and I decided that we should try our luck, and here's the result:

The first qualifying assignment is "Dark Queen". It was necessary to create an image of a gloomy queen, but not without a stylish fashion element. On that occasion I made a necklace from a veterinary cat's collar. There were many options, but I decided to dwell on what you can see now. It is put on according to the idea, by the way, not as we did in the photo, but it is tightened under the neck. But because of the dress, I had to use it as a "cover", otherwise it looked not neat and disharmonious.

In general, that day we gathered quite early in the building of the Altai State University (at the university, because our hair master, there is a teacher :) ), to start cooking with a hairstyle. I do not remember why Andrei and I came to the very beginning, but after spending 3-4 hours there, we started actively to think about it. Alas, Andrei had a bad toothache and had to be sent to the hospital. After that, Natasha's boyfriend Petya, came to our aid, and the three of us went to the place of shooting in the evening.

The location is very interesting. I learned about it many, many years ago, when my friends and I liked to explore all sorts of abandoned places. There are two half-ruined twin towers (as people like to call them), a lot of huge debris and strange trees. And since the place is located under the mountain, if you look up, the building that rises there will look like a gloomy old castle! In fact, the place is pretty creepy and I was uncomfortable, especially when it turned dark. But for more details about it, I'll tell you another time, because I happened to have another interesting shooting with another model!))

The darkness was very problematic. Although the camera has the ability to deal with noise, I still do not like it terribly. There was nowhere to go, every minute it grew darker and darker, and iso was rising higher and higher) But, as I always thought, the main thing is how to process it later. So the result came out pretty good, but I still miscalculated a little with the treatment, I made a tint, which removed all the gloss.

In the end, we took the 20 th place, which is quite good, because at the first qualifying there were 80 participants, 50 of which passed to the next stage. Well, what happened next, you'll find out very soon! :)
