Explore Zhao Tomb #1: (My Photography About A Emperor's Tomb)
Dear steemit friends:
Today I will go to sharing these photos taken in the Zhao Mausoleum which located in the middle of Beiling Park. In my previous post I shared with you some photos taken in the park, If you missed it you can click here.
There are many beautiful flowers and lovely animals in the west of the park, now I'll show you the east side of the park, a large beautiful lake.
In summer, many peoples like to walk by the lake and go boating.
Do you remember the statue?
yes, it is the It is a statue of Huangtaiji, a emperor in Qing dynasty.
go on walking forward with me,you can see the dismounting stele in the following picture. In ancient times, civil and military officials marched here, dismounted and walked forward. it is a breve stele established by imperial family and erected in front of the palace with Ornamental Pillars.
This is the Ornamental Pillars. It is a memorial, identification of column in road used in ancient times. People identify the direction of the road with it. This is the prototype of Ornamental Pillars.
It is a very tall, huge column, and is often erected in front of palace, tombs as a ornament. it is form of traditional architecture in ancient China.
From it, we see that It can be divided into three parts, namely, stigma, scape and base.
There are carved dragon in the body of pillar. on the top of it is auspicious animal, standing on the stigma. they set off the majesty of the mausoleum with the stone lion.
Simple, unsophisticated, elegant Ornamental Pillars and magnificient buildings formed an integral whole which make me feel a kind of not only artistic harmony, but also the solemnity and majesty of history.
The stone lion and Ornamental Pillars. They stand on both sides of the road.
go on walking..
you will see the Stone Archway
it is built in the reign of Emperor Shunzhi or Kangxi. It is a imitation of wooden structures with four pillars, a space of three rooms, three storeys and Xieshan style roof. The body of the archway was carved with various flowery design presenting vivid images. It was finely carved and can be taken as a masterpiece of stone carving. As a typical building in the tomb. it was mainly memorize the dead, commend superior performance and direct persons into sacrificial state.
There is a small house on each side of the archway. The East is the emperor's toilet and changeroom and the West is a place where animals and poultry are slaughtered at sacrifice.
The north is the main entrance of the mausoleum, Red Front Door.

Beautiful photos you have taken there! I wish I have the time and money to visit all those beautiful places (including the ones depicted here in your post) and experience the dynamic culture of every place. There is just so much in this world for us to explore yet so little time to do so. I hope you can see as much as the world whilst you have the chance to do so! Good luck and have fun!
