I eat the wood ear mushrooms (Auricularia auricula-judae) that I find, just because they are fun, more than having any great-tasting strong flavor. But in the second picture, they don't quite match up to what I'm used to seeing. I think those are one of the Exidia, either E. nigricans or E. glandulosa, because they are fused into bigger patches, rather than staying as individual mushrooms. And they seem pretty black to be the usually brown wood ears. Just my take on it. But it's @ocrdu that would take the risk to eat it, lol. ; )
