Bluebirds used to be under a lot of threat, too. Until folks started building a lot of well-deigned birdhouses. I hope folks grow more milkweed. It is pretty enough to have in a garden!

Milkweed used to be so common. When I lived in Michigan, I ate a lot of the young shoots, but there was a lot of it back then - a weed! It's delicious -- better than asparagus, I think.
