A Beautiful Temple of the Goddess of Wisdom - 'Sringeri'
Hi Friends.... In my yesterday's blog I told you about our two days trip to a hill station called Sringeri, in the middle of Western Ghats and on the banks of a river called 'Thunga'.
This place is famous for a Sharadamba Temple and also Sri Shankaracharya Peetham.
This is that beautiful temple of the Goddess of Wisdom by name 'Sharada'. People come here to pray for their children's education(Vidye)....
This is another Shiva Sannidhi, or Shiva temple...
This is the Gopuram of the Temple.
This is the photo of a beautiful 'Thunga' river passing nearby where people can feed the fish with some food which we get near the temple for 10 INR..... :)
The temple is surrounded by some hotels, lodges and also Chathrams run by the temple. But as we wanted to stay in a cool and calm place for a day, we opted to stay at a homestay at a bit far away place.

Very Beautiful temple and peaceful place. I have been here many times. The best part of it is feeding the fish, huge fishes so close to humans.
And one unique architectural beauty of picture#4 Shiva temple is, the hanging bangles, multiple rings of stones hanging to each other were carved in single stone.
I have the picture somewhere in my gallery, will share it for sure.
