I enjoyed a nice holiday in Mittersil (Salzburg) - first Impressions

This last 5 days i enjoyed a very nice holiday in Mittersil, Austria together with a friend of mine. We did a lot of hiking and photographing nice places and animals we encountered there. Most of the time we had a nice weather and therefore could go on big hiking trips through the beautiful Pinzgau. Of course we came home with a lot of nice pictures. I want to show you a first glimpse of my impressions i had all over the time.

Like last year we also visited the waterfalls in Krimml because they are pretty beautiful and always nice to visit. We did a lot of longtime exosure shots there an where wondering about some of the visitors walking up the mountain with flip-flops. Only because of the well prepared path to the waterfalls, some people don't respect the mountain anymore and walk up the hills with pretty bad shoes. And good shoes are something very important when you want to go hiking. A lot of accidents happen only because of stupid people didn't weare appropriate shoewear. A guy who workes at the waterfalls told us that this year the mountain rescue already had to save 5 people from the mountains there in Krimml only because of their bad shoes.

The waterfalls in Krimml are pretty good for your health, there are a lot of people only visiting the waterfalls for breathing in the air with the water molecules that the waterfall produces, because when the water is falling from such a hight place to the ground it is splitted into very small molecules that are in the air after that. These small water molecules shoud be very good for people with asthma.

In Krimml there are not only the big and well known waterfalls, but also smaller one when you walk up the mountain and get back to the Krimmler "Archental" a valley right above the Krimmler waterfalls with the river "Krimmler Arche" running through. I can really recommend walking back up there, even if it's a pretty heavy hike especially when you carry 10 kilos of photography equipment with you. Some times i really was mad at myself why i took so much equipment with me, especially the 150-600 mm lens with about 1 kilo and the second Camera might not be on the list the next time.

The nice and very beautiful mountain lakes in Pinzgau where also on our list of places to visit. The Colors of the water and the nice fog that layed on the top of the lake. The scene there was like in a fairy tale. Sun shining into the scene from one side and enlighting the whole lake and the trees with a beautiful light.

In Mayrhofen we visited a show of birds of prey. It's the highest in Austria and it was really beautiful and impressive. These birds are so beautiful and majestetic so i had to take a lot of pictures from them.
