Stavanger Cathedral - Follow Up Post On The Troll Story
Stavanger Cathedral
In my last post I told you the story of the Lifjell Troll , This is a follow up post on that. Today I will show you the hole in the ground that became Breiavatnet and the old cathedral he tried to destroy.
Stavanger Cathedral is Norway's oldest cathedral and the seat of the Bishop of Stavanger.
It is one of the country's cathedrals, which has largely retained its medieval expression, and the only one that has been in continuous use since the 1300s.
The cathedral is centrally located in Stavanger, between Breiavatnet in the south, Square and the harbor
in the northwest, Domkirkeplassen in the north, and Kongsgård and Stavanger Cathedral School in the southwest.
The cathedral became Roman Catholic bishopric after the Stavanger diocese was established around year 1125.
Breiavatnet, the hole the troll made. The Cathedral is behind the trees to the right of the white building (Kongsgård and Stavanger Cathedral School).
