Here's a long exposure of a roundabout just inside Holyrood park in Central Edinburgh. Its just down the road from Scottish Parliament and the Palace.
This was taken in the early evening shortly after rush hour. Which in my opinion is the best time to try and capture light trails in your photography.. nothing is worse than planning a shot for which light trails are an integral part, and you end up on location at a time where the traffic is light to non-existent. The more cars pass through the frame during your long exposure, the more dramatic the effect of the light trail.
