TreeTuesday - Gumballs
This is Liquidambar styraciflua also knows as American sweetgum tree. It is still too early for the lovely shaped leaves to show up.
For now it is standing there at the near-by playground covered in those round seed pods. Lots of them on the ground around, but no baby trees. The lawn is mowed regularly so they do not stand a chance.

In the summer it will be covered in big leves that in the fall will take this lovely, dark red colour

Do birds eat the fruits? No clue.
Will have to check in the summer I guess.

this tree is a source of gum as well?
Erm... I don't have a clue :)
Maybe they just produce something rubbery. Or smell like a gumball :D
Wow, amazing tree and i want to see it's lively leaves, but still this dry tree with it's dark fruits looks amazing and have the pure natural essence and the fallen leaf is really beautiful and these leaves on this tree will be more amazing to watch. Thanks for sharing and wishing you an great day. 🙂
Stay Blessed.
Thank you. The tree looks really nice in the fall!
Have a great day as well :)
Thank you. 🙂
Great contribution! I’m curious if the birds eat the fruits too. Looks hazardous for them.
I really don't know. Maybe they do pick the flesh and leave the seeds...

Thank you! I am not a photographer though I just run around with a camera :D
