The tiniest of the tinysteemCreated with Sketch.

The most common Mammillarias usually have the smallest flowers. It's those that you get in markets and grow fast and almost like weeds take over a pot.
I bought this one like that. It was so much bigger though! Multiple spiky balls all tucked up together that looked like little pillow. And I am not sure if I over watered it, or the shop did, but few weeks later when I was repoting it most of the big ones were half rotted, lots of little ones were already empty with spines coming off and falling apart. I took the healthy and rootless ones and potted them in 3 separate, small pots. The big ones I tried to clean up, remove the rotten part, and there is still chance to save them.

Two of the three pots grew so nicely and almost filled up the pots already! and surprise surprise... they also decided to bloom. This is the very first flower.

Very small, peachy bloom. With one it doesn't look very special. but when there is many little heads in one pot (just like it was when I bought it) and they all start to bloom, it looks really cute! Plus later on it produces nice red fruits that are even more showy! Hope to get some of those too.

Very beautiful photos!
Beautiful Mammillaria , congratulations that you could save her.
Rot, it's terrible, not all cacti survive, or rather very few of them!
