Looks like those poor things went to hell and back.
All you can do now is just eat and eat and eat!

I found few of those with the wings are all broken and faded feeding on my mum's lavender. I thought that with this big damage, the wont be able to fly, but no... they were moving around just as any other butterfly. Still feel bad for them. Probably had to battle some nasty winds.. (or a playful kitty).

Just as I like shooting those dried and decaying flowers and leaves and find them still beautiful, those butterflies are still beautiful in their own way. Not perfect, not brand new. But they don't give up...

That is what I call a very worn butterfly. Looks like many birds were trying to get it but only took away part of its wings. It is amazing how they can still fly like that.
