FungiFriday - The needle giants

in #photography5 years ago

Probably for most of you the mushroom hunting season is over and very close to ending. It didn't even start here yet! We had some very good rain during the week so I guess I can start looking for them. Those shots are still from the previews season.
As soon as they start to pop and I have a camera with me I shot like crazy. All of them! Just to have enough for the whole dry season.
It worked :)

Those little ones are obviously the hardest to find, but they always look so cool among pines, mosses or some tiny sand rocks. Everything around looks just so gigantic!

Bonus shot - just to enjoy the lovely bokeh. The mushroom is there. But the camera refused to focus on it.

My contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw

I hope many of you will join as there are only 2 simple rules:

  • when Friday comes post your own, original photo/drawing/art/food/anything-at-all of any type of fungi (yes, I will check and report stolen images!)
  • add #FungiFriday tag (it doesn't have to be your first tag)
    That's all :)

Thank you :)

Seems mycena-like though this one has a velvety looking cap.

All those little ones on skinny legs looks the same to me :P

There's still quite a few unidentified unnamed fungi that have subtle species differences. They are constantly getting reclassified and moved around in various latin families once scientists actually research them. You can dub these ones ewkaw skinnystemicus.

Nice DOF considering you shot @ f6.3? That's a bit strange value for the aperture... is it because of Sigma? lol

Thanks! I think it could be also the very low angle so there was some distance behind.
