All the fluffy fur in summer doesn't sound like a good idea, does it?
But those little plants know what they are doing. It is not to keep them warm. On the contrary. It is to protect them from the hot sun. The little plants hide under the fur and stay perfectly safe :)
Mammillaria Glassii - cute, but don't you dare touching in. See the little hooks? They will attach to anything... and will not let go!
When she grows a little more she will bloom with pretty, tiny, pink flowers :)
Sempervivum arachnoideum - this one you can touch and pet and it is super soft and nice :)

Fur isn't a bad idea for summer at all - at least for my summer. Right now I'm sitting in a wool blanket and listen to tje sound of rain...
And I have a furry plant at my balcony - it is salvia! It has amazing aroma! Look

There was a reason why I send you some doubles. They are young, and in Portugal is hot, so it is harder to them to adjust after trip in box, in summer time, than it would be in early spring or autumn.

The one that died is Maihueniopsis Subterranea. The second cutting seems to be doing fine and I see some new growth at the tip I think :P (or it's all in my head)
