Abstract Architectural Design

This unusual cube house is located in Port Elliot, South Australia. It has a very unique design that looks like an emulation of rolling dice - so bizarre that anyone driving past won't miss a glimpse of it.

Last year in October, my husband and I were driving back from our Coorong Cruise Adventure and we saw this house. I had to take a photo of it because it was once featured in an Australian TV show, if I am not mistaken, it is the show called Better Homes and Garden. They featured different houses with weird, or unusual, or abstract architectural designs. I was stoked to find this house along the highway (not that I was intentionally looking for this) but I just got excited so I told my husband to go back and stop at that house. I must take a photo!

And so we did a U-Turn and drove maybe 2 kilometres back to where the house was located. There was a Real Estate sign at the front which stated that the property was sold! Someone bought the house! Someone must be into abstract art to appreciate this sight.

Would you live in this house? I know I wouldn't. I'd get lost inside my own home if it were mine.

I always wonder what it looks like to move around such a building. I suspect that it must be functional to some extent. But I would rather not decide to buy this property😉
However, it's true what you say, it is an architect's success, because everyone pays attention to this house. Thanks for an interesting post @evlachsblog!

Thank you for your comment. And you're welcome.

I can't say for sure as I have not seen the interior. But of course architects won't design a house that is not fully functional. And because it has been featured on TV and news and some websites, the property value may be considerably high because of its popularity, who knows. I don't know anything about real estate anyway, so who am i to say?

Is something weird i have never seen something like that :0

It's the only weird house I have ever seen in my life.

Cool.. Sometimes I wonder the inspirations behind such structure it more like thinking outside the box.
Awesome post

Thank you. This house is one of the most bizarre homes in South Australia. When it was featured in the news a few years ago, the designer/architect said he wanted to use an element of cubism design just to do something different. It is really not attractive at all, but the architect succeeded at making this an attraction, making anyone turn their heads as they drive past this house... he definitely thought outside the box (or cube).
