Image: Cover of Nirvana's Album, Nevermind, featuring Spencer Elden

The Cover Shot of Nirvava's iconic album, Nevermind, features a baby under water chasing a bank note on a hook, like bait. The shot was taken as the photo stock company wanted $7,500 a year to use their shot. So ... Spencer Elden, the son of a friend of the photographer's, got thrown in!

All grown up ... Spencer Elden, below as a 20 year-old, recreates his pose from Nirvana's Nevermind. He offered to properly recreate the shot but the publicists got the 'fear' and decided to have him in his boardshorts. There had already been enough controversy when the album was released. Kurt Cobain wanted a sticker over the boy's penis saying "If you can't handle this, you're a closet paedophile." They air-brushed it.

Photographing fish under water is one thing, people is quite another. Our skin is more supple leading to disfigurements. The need to breathe causes involuntary movement. The refraction and density of water causes unusual effects.

These are some of my favourites. I hope you enjoy.

Cool photos :)

Thank you @timcliff. I am glad you enjoyed them. The girl with the umbrella ... just ... clever!

A sight for sore eyes

Mistress of the Cave

Here is my fav :) a nice relaxing video that brings some chills hopefully

Watching now ... extraordinary and quite left-field! Thank you! Namaste
Give that girl a big cup of tea - she must be so cold by the end of the shoot! So much exposed skin - head, neck, not for the cold-averse!! My favourite in my lot is the girl with the umbrella - so creative! The dolphins are lovely too - such graceful forms, bot the dolphins and the diver - I had to crop it a lot but ... still good!

hahaha sounds like you had fun, at least I hope so, yeah I'm a fan of the sea theme too, trying to get to not be scared of water I guess :D I saw a dolphin pic the other day, agree on that part :) Truly beautiful, don't worry about crops

I used to live in Sydney. In certain parts you are swimming along and see a whole bunch of Noah's Arks (sharks) right below you. I have seen whales and dolphins inside the harbour ... amazing stuff.
