The magnificent doorways of Greece

Doorways in Greece range from works of art, through to the plain functional, or the gritty entry to a haven of peace. From the Classical Greek through to the functionality of the present-day, Greek doorways have often been viewed almost as portals into the backstreet market or the sacred or secular spaces of the Classical world.

These photos (all taken by Dr Robert Muller) form part of a Steemit series on Greek and German architecture. Enjoy!
