Seven Day Black And White Challenge – Day 1 – Black And White Contest - Winter In Florida

in #photography7 years ago

I am participating again in this challenge using my iPhone 8 Plus and shooting the images in *raw using the Camera+ app. So, each image for the 7 days will be taken with my iPhone 8 Plus. Feel free to start the challenge if you want to. I have changed the rules to suit myself, so feel free to use my rules or make changes yourself.

I am also entering this image in the Black and White Contest run by @daveks. The theme is winter! Read about it here.

This photograph was taken on the beach at Jacksonville Beach, Florida yesterday when the temperature was barely above the freezing mark. The tire marks are in the sand instead of the snow (we don't usually get that stuff in Florida) and were made by the beach patrol vehicles! when it gets this cold at the beach, it is usually quite deserted!

It's not normal, right? Winter in Florida, I mean.

Been reading about cold cyclone bomb all around USA

Stay warm!

Very normal here in North Florida. LOL! It just doesn't last all winter. We have had colder winters than this since we moved here 22 years ago - one winter where we had below freezing temperatures overnight for days. I've twice seen snow flurries, but back in 1989 a few years before we came here, they had a white Christmas. http://jacksonville.com/slideshow/2015-12-16/look-back-freak-snowstorm-december-1989#slide-1

Oic!!! I always thought Florida being the sun shine state would always be tropical. That is interesting!

It's a common myth. Lol! We have deciduous trees here in north Florida that lose all their leaves in the winter. I actually enjoy experiencing the four seasons, but in the extreme south of Florida, that would not be!

@thekitchenfairy we get a winter that last about a week the first of the year. Our leaves also start to fall in January and not in the fall. It is supposed to be back in the 70's early to mid week. Where @dmcamera is at is north florida. South florida rarely sees cold but this year they did!

Ahhh, yes, the cold weather.
The ground is covered in snow, benches too cold to sit on, ...
So what do you do?
You squat.

that's awesome.. the beach looks like snow!!!!!

That was the idea behind the shot! Florida winter snow. LOL!
