The Courthouse - NO ADMISSION
Recently I've been on a photo walk in Souillac exploring the little town on foot. I'm sharing the photos a few at a time so as not to overwhelm.
The sign says 'No Admittance' but guess what...I went in anyway!😉📸
This used to be the old Court House building in Souillac. It's been totally abandoned. Furniture and all.
It I could I would appropriate those benches, restore them and use them.
It is such a sadness that places like these are abandoned with no proper care and restoration. Instead of restoring and monetizing it as a museum it's been let go to ruins.
A fire seems to have destroyed most of what was the actual court
I can just imagine the court proceedings in this room
Abandoned and let to rot. The history of yesteryear. The sadness of what has been and never will be again.

Why do we do easily leave things behind just to build or start a newer, shinier version down the road. Forgetting what had been. What had served us well but outserved it's purpose. I love photos of old buildings and I often feel like shedding a tear about the abandoned ones. I often wonder why. What was the reason. And if there was a valid reason for moving on why not look after the one you're leaving behind. Why let it go to ruin.
If these walls could talk I would sit by it's feet and listen to the stories it would tell. Of pain and heartache. Stories of debauchery and crime I'm sure. It's a pity it will one day not be at all.

It's sad, that could be a museum or some sort of tourist attraction if renovated and maintaining its old form.
The pictures are lovely as always.
It's kind of a human character after attaining what we so long for we tend not to care for it and look for another one...
