The intimacy of a Poppy
Macro photography can sometimes result in fascinating photos, even if the subject photographed is something ordinary...
For me, the photo below is a typical example.
In the beginning of springtime in Évora, i found a poppy (Papaver rhoeas) with its stamens clearly stunted, which allowed an almost perfect view of the flower's ovary already pollinated.
I decided to shoot the image in macro mode to cause the impression that the viewer was inside the flower, facing that beautiful ovary!
One mesmerizing detail: The intense, silky red...
P.S.: For those who do not know, Évora is a medieval city and the capital of the Alentejo region (southern Portugal). In the following stories, i will publish more about the unique and fascinating Alentejo, a place so poorly known outside the portuguese borders.
Cheers!

glad that you liked it @englishtchrivy
I had to read your post before I knew what exactly what I was looking at. Great photo!
thanks @shaunmza
That's the "power" of the macro shots! They can reveal different perspectives from "ordinary" things...
What a nice, crisp image! Did you have any sort of special lighting for making this image? It really shows that tiny pollen so well!
glad that you liked it @haphazard-hstead
I just use daylight... I had some great natural light that day, though.
Good light, indeed. Your shot is full of action ad personality, too -- hard to get in many flower portraits.
Great shot!
Resteemed.
