Sunwapta River and FallssteemCreated with Sketch.

The Sunwapta River originates from the Athabasca Glacier and is a major tributary of the Athabasca river. Sunwapta is a Stoney Indian word meaning "turbulent river". Located in Jasper National Park, just off the Icefields Parkway highway (93 North), and south of Athabasca Falls, it's an easy place to stop in and view the Falls. Great place for a picnic!

Very cool shots @daveks. That water looks insane, I can see why they have that chain-link fence! That rock in the 3rd and 4th images looks like a turtle's head to me.

Now that you mention it, I can see the turtle head too...interesting, thanks @cognoscere!

Wow! Wonderful and amazing! I absolutely agree with you, it's a great place for picnic indeed!

It's a great place, with amazing views alright, thanks @tangmo!

Please tell me that no one tries to walk across those fallen trees!!! Another beautiful picture story. Thanks!

These days, it wouldn't surprise me, with everything being so "extreme", thanks @countrygirl!

Whoa.. Those roots are awesome!

Yeah, the kids really thought they were cool (and so did I)!
