Moraine Lake
In the first photos is the gorgeous Moraine Lake in Banff National Park, with the Valley of the Ten Peaks in the background! The unusual color of the water is due to the refraction of light off the glacial "Rock flour" that is continually deposited into the water from the nearby Glaciers.
If you are ever in the Banff National Park area, Moraine Lake is a MUST visit destination, situated just 20 minutes south of Lake Louise. For Canada's 150th anniversary, park entry fees are waived for the entire year!

Nice daveks, its funny of all my hikes, I've never been down at this lake. I've seen it from passes around the lake, but I've never gotten down there yet. I do tend to find hikes with preferrable very few people though, so that probably explains it, this is one BUSY place!
You've got to do the Larch Valley hike! We went in mid July and really there wasn't that many on the trail at all. Highly recommended! I want to go again this summer @unipsycho
ya, I've done a lot of the areas around there, further east and some west and south of it, as and even week long trips in the area, so I certainly know how amazing and beautiful it is! BTW: if you don't know, you can get the canada parks pass (or at least banff) for free this year so order it online at that link if you are expecting to be in the parks at all.
