My Friend the Happy Giraffe
I recently visited The Living Desert, which is a botanical garden and zoo. For the giraffe exhibit, I had the opportunity to feed carrots to the giraffes. They were as friendly as 16 foot tall puppies as you can see by the pictures. I have to say the habitat they built for the giraffes was very large and very natural looking. I have been to some zoos that made me sad, but this wasn’t one of them.
I don’t know if this is a giraffe smiling, but this is the look I got when he saw I had carrots.

And yes, that is an ostrich wandering through the giraffe habitat.

and yes the Giraffe does look happy to me
