My Second Event as a Photographer! Elegant Evening Birthday Celebration ~
Last month I posted images from my first event as a photographer. If you missed them you can view them here. My goal was to help my cousin get some professional shots in her portfolio for her event planning business. She was so pleased with the pictures that she asked me to be her permanent photographer for all of her events.
At the time I declined and told her I couldn’t commit to a part-time gig but I could help her in my spare time. A few days after that we talked about her event schedule and I realized how far apart her events were (at least as of now). My husband and I decided that it would be okay if I was hired as her photographer! I set a reasonable and affordable price per event that made her happy. I am so glad to be able to help my cousin and not break her pockets while at the same time earning some extra cash. I do understand now why most photographers charge a high price. It is so time consuming editing pictures and trying to get them just right. Especially for me being a perfectionist, I spend a lot of time trying to bring out the mood of the event.
I didn’t know what to expect this time. The first event she explained to me the theme of the party and even showed me a preview of the decorations. This time I was walking into a total surprise of what I would be capturing. I walked in and immediately felt this classical feel and sense of old time music 🎵 with the retro style microphones she had set up. I knew right off I wanted some of her pictures to have a Vintage look. I played around with black and white tones to help bring this feeling to life. The birthday celebration was for a man turning 30 who grew up loving music 🎶. I knew I would enjoy capturing these lovely elegant images.

There ya have it. My second event as a photographer. I know I still have a lot to learn and to improve on. I feel the more I do the better I’ll get. It was a little tricky trying to capture some of the images in front of the blue light but I managed to pull off a few. Her next scheduled event as of now isn’t until July of 2018 but I am looking forward to it.
