Frangipani Blossoms

in #photography5 years ago

These are the most gorgeous flowers, that almost look like they are made of wax. They are deciduous shrubs or small trees and are indigenous to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and as far south as Brazil. However today, they are grown as ornamentals in most warm regions. I came across these in Australia.

Those are amazing! They remind me of members of the Hoya family of flowers/houseplants. I think they're native to Mexico too. The flowers have the same waxy look, but look like they could be candy, they're so delicate. I have some seeds I need to try as daylight gets longer now...

they are stunning flowers indeed, I love that waxy look, they almost look artificial

These flowers are awesome. Really looking like made of wax. Never seen before. Are they smelling? Great shots btw.

thanks so much @ikarus56, yes they do have a nice smell!

Stunning photos. They absolutely are beautiful flowers and the smell...wow. I live in Thailand. They were traditionally called longtam (bad thai) translated as melancholy and were traditionally found in temples, cemetaries or courts. They now popularised and called wa la dii. I was so blown away.by them i painted a large peice. Inspired by georgia o Keefe received_1502918476452077.jpeg

Those are really gorgeous flowers!
And I do agree, they do look like they are waxed; or fake.
