A tale of an ancient lake. Bijoy Singh Lake - Feni, Bangladesh.
There is a lot of heritage in Bangladesh. Some are natural, some are created by human. Many human creatures are so long-lasting that we can mention them as natural beauty on the earth. Bijoy Singh Lake is one of them.
Bijoy Singh Lake located in Feni, near the Dhaka - Chittagong High Way (Mahipal), beside Feni Circuit House. This lake around 37 acres with three side a 20 feet high soil wall, which make this lake more beautiful.
Like all other ancient creature, this lake also has some history and myth. Some people believe that the lake made by Sena emperor Vijhay Sena, and some people believe the lake is made by a local king name Bijoy Singh to please his mother. But one thing is common to them, no one knows the exact year or decade that when this lake founded.
And the Myth is,
It came around to generation to generation that once golden jar and dish were founded on the lake water. One day, a greedy person stole one of the golden jars and after that, all the golden jar and dish disappeared. One thing I have to admit that is no one never irritated this to dry.
This lake now belongs to Feni District Authority. They are taking good care of this. Cleaned the lake's water, made a long bench for visitors to seat and other staff. Also, no plastics was noticed when I by myself visited there. Such a good thing. Many people came here to relax and spent their time with their family in a good place.
