How to Make Night Photography with a Smartphone

in #photography7 years ago

To make quality photos you must have a phone that has the manual camera option, then you will find a lot of options there. To take pictures at night you must have ISO as little as possible and exposure time as long as possible. In these pictures I used iso 50 and 10 second exposure time, that means for 10 seconds the phone is not allowed to move at all. Do not try to take pictures from your hand because you will make blurry photos, just take the phone if you do not have a tripod and set it somewhere to stand. You will take more pictures because you often see almost nothing but just after the picture is ready. It's not easy at night to make pictures but the results can be amazing.

Hi @cgame , I was not aware that this was even possible.

I really like the last image.

This is actually really impressive. You've got some skill!!! x

UPVOTED - of course

On some phones you can if they have manual camera or you can install other apps if native camera doesn't have manual control

Cool Photos!! @cgame

My phone doesn't even make such great pictures during the day!

Hahaha:) Lol they are edited a little with an app called MIX, what phone you have?

Mine is a Huawei... ehm... I dunno! A cheapish one, big mistake :D

Com on.. It is not a bad phone ... i think. You give me an idea to tell the story how i buy the phone and why was the best investment of my life.

Well, the phone itself isn't so bad, if it weren't for the very, very low storage space. I can hardly install any app without it whining that there's no room. I'm forced to root the phone, so I can use my huge extra SD card for apps, which means some apps can't be used (Pokemon Go for example).

It's also been very slow lately, but oh well...

Omg don't tell me you play Pokemon:) I never play it, too scared do not hit by a car. Just yesterday i find some AR app projects AR means Argument Reality and I want to test it. My phone has i think 32 GB internal and 64 GB on the card and sometimes it is not enough, i just installed an app and just now i work on a video shoot in 4k with 100MB/ second. That is insane 1 GB/10 sec of video and my phone is hot. Why you don't make a post about your Pokemon experience ?

Well I tried to play it a bit, but that was before my phone whined that it didn't have enough space. So I haven't played it much at all and not for a long time. I also don't actually have the internets on my phone and have to work with just wifi (I'm oldschool, prepaid).

AR can be pretty awesome. Actually, we got to try out the hololens a while back, which was pretty cool! I can imagine it's quite hard on a phone though...

I understand, the problem is not your phone, the problem is technology evolve so much in a short time and i hope it will not eat us. I didn't try that yet but i will, i just play with a virtual car in my house on a carpet and i install Ingress, Geocashing and Streetspotr but didn't try outside.

13.60 pff.. so much money and so little for my post LOL .. that is the life:)

Nice shots! I really need to get a new phone. As much as I wish I could take my Canon everywhere, it's just not feasible or practical at times.

I have a Canon 6D from work but i prefer my phone and trust me you will love when you will have it.

Gotta make that money before I can get anything new. Haha. Things that are in reach are so much further away than they should be.

I am in the same situation want to buy a cheap copy of Osmo Mobile for videos but when I will have the money too:)

These photos are fantastic. Thanks for the tips, I love taking nighttime photos.

Me too @krazykrista me too...:)

I dig your previous work too, following.

Thank you :)

Unfortunately i think my galaxy note 3 does not have this feature :/

You can try Camera FV-5 demo version and if you can put it on s mode and take a picture with 8 seconds exposure it is working if not ....:(

i will try it, thank you for the Advice^^
