SPRINGTIME ADVENTURES , episode 15 - Watertrap

in #photography5 years ago (edited)

There is a plant, out on the meadows, one with blue flowers and thick leaves covered with hair.

And when all the other surrounding surfaces have dried, long after the rain, on these hairy leaves, the water stays captured in lovely droplets ... much longer then you would expect ... or much longer then I expected... or something like that ...
P1940965.JPG
This is a short story ... about the things I saw in this land of droplets, preserved under the pretty strong midday sun ...
P1930860.JPG
... or more like a catalog ...
P1930884malo.jpg
a collection of interesting moments that caught my attention ...
P1930886malo.jpg
... like this extremely well camouflaged ...
P1930892.JPG
... green spider ...
P1930872.JPG
... or this brown one, mimicking some dead, desiccated plant part ... or just a dead version of himself ...
P1930875.JPG
... when ready for action, changes the shape and posture ... becoming a very different version of the same spider ...
P1930896.JPG
I saw some small young grasshoppers in the same shades of brown as the spider ...
P1930943.JPG
... young crickets wearing the colors of the surrounding vegetation...
P1930913.JPG
... and a lot of droplets ...
P1930968.JPG
... sometimes in groups ...
P1930921.JPG
... some in pairs ...
P1930917.JPG
... and even the isolated, lonely ones ...
P1930923.JPG
There were some beautiful amber and yellow colored hoverflies ...
P1930946.JPG
... and some big colorful caterpillars with great body decorations ...
P1930949malo.jpg
... yep ...
P1930947.JPG
... I was pretty amazed by those ...
P1930944malo.jpg
... so I made more pictures than necessary ...
P1930945malo.jpg
... and could not resist the temptation to put them all here ... :)
P1930933.JPG
I saw also some small yellow worm-like caterpillars ...
P1930926malo.jpg
... which I also found cool and interesting ...
P1930930.JPG
... here is looking at the camera ...
P1930935.JPG
Further, I saw some very small spiders ...
P1930941.JPG
... of different types ...
P1930940.JPG
... and some more droplets ...
P1930937.JPG
... some cool combinations of shiny water and blue flowers ...
P1930856.JPG
... and some more leaves with droplets ...
P1930864.JPG
Yep
P1930866.JPG
... a lot of small doses of water here ...
P1930861.JPG
... and one more big droplet before the end ...
P1930858.JPG
... one more little fly ...
P1930899.JPG

And that's all for today ... hope you can stand this overflow of droplets ... have a good day ... or night ... wherever you are ...
( As always on these posts on steemit, all the photographs are my work. )

Let's make a quiz ... how many droplets and how many spiders we have here @borjan 😂 all those creatures gathering on one plant only?

:) hehe, cool droplet quest ... yep, same plant ... I mean the same type of plant ... all is photographed on a small patch of the meadow, few square meters more or less, covered with this plants.

Have you figure out what kind of plant it is? I thought it was hoya before.. but can't recognise the blue flower. Really nice way to enjoy the spring... thanks for sharing 😉

I did a little search on google, found similar flowers but not exactly this plant, plants are easy to find and determinate on the internet if they are edible or famous for some other reason, their perfume, big size or extravagant shapes, to find a small anonymous plant is not an easy task :)

These are amazing! I love the close up shot of the green spider, and the little water drops are beautiful.

Glad you like this little wonders ... I think I saw this plant somewhere on your photographs ... or was some other very similar ...

I think you did too! It looks like a lupine. The leaves are very distinctive.
