PARTIKO CITYSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST WEEK #002 - Entry by @boddhisattva
This is my entry for the PARTIKO CITYSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST by @axeman.
The photo shows the Triumphal Arch of the Russia Armed Forces headquarters.
This is certainly not the front side of the arch, but on the Internet you can find a lot of photos from this side. Probably, this is partly due to the fact that tourists and residents of the city get through it to Palace Square, passing along Bolshaya Morskaya Street, turning off Nevsky Prospect.
And I walked this way during my last stroll through Petersburg. I went aiming to photograph. The camera was constantly in hand.
Approaching this archway, I took several shots, one of which I want to share today. I tried to apply my understanding of the rules of building a frame here. I feel some of its flaws and, if possible, I would try to shoot a little differently. For example, I would like the famous Alexander Column, which is visible through the arch, to be shifted slightly to the left in the frame. But it turned out what happened.
At least I tried to be original.
Palace Square is one of the main attractions of the city. Therefore, through this arch pass thousands of people a day. By the way, because of this, it is not easy to wait for the moment to take a photo, half of which will be filled by tourists. I also had to wait a bit.
