RE: Wilderness Winter Hiking & Pine Needle Tea 📷
Pine Needle Tea? How interesting! Do you happen to know what health benefits it has? Now I want to go out in the woods and find a pine tree so I can try it! Wait... it's 36 degrees out there 😕😊... so how does it taste?
@bitsy, it tastes great actually and even better than that, its extremely good for you. VERY HIGH vitamin C and A, among some other benefits. Its easy to make, just collect some needles off new growth areas (they have the most flavor) and boil some water with them in it. I usually pack about a cup of needles into 2-3cups of water and boil it for a minute. Longer makes it stronger. Takes great, and if you like the smell of a christmas tree farm or pine tree forest, you will love the tea!
Spruce needle tea is good too, a bit stronger and I prefer the flavor or the pine needles myself.
Here's a page with more info on it...
