Grandma's house reconstruction project. Day 1

in #photography5 years ago

Some of you might have already seen my summer project that i have uploaded on Dtube, where i am reconstructing my old grandma's house.

Sadly, my grandma has passed away a few years ago and her house was standing empty since then. I did not want to spend the whole summer in front of PC in Vilnius, capital city of Lithuania so i have decided to make a reconstruction and i have started with building conveniences inside the house like toilet and shower with laundry room.

Since nobody was living in the house for quite a while, vegetation has started to take over, almost creeping into the house.

This is a back door, that was rarely used ant it led to a few small rooms, with some old wooden handmade cupboard where all the unused stuff and junk was stashed away for some reason. It contained few vintage items. Some of them will be discarded, some items might go for some restoration projects which will be decided yet.

Most of the items however is pure junk that will have to go away. The whole are consists of three small rooms, separated by temporary brick walls that are not supporting anything, so i will tear them down and clean the are into one space that will be used for shower, laundry, WC.

There was some old and broken furniture, some washing machine, pile of card boxes and tons of other junk.

First job is to remove all the junk and tear down the walls. So let's get to it!

Here is a video of Day 1 if you are interested how it looks in motion and have missed it before.

If you got insanely crypto rich and still retained it in this big bear market i will accept donations that will be used for house restoration purposes lol.
For the supporters i will erect an honor wall in the house with their names being mentioned no matter the size of donation. I think that would a cool thing to do by itself :)

Looks like you have your hands full for the summer. The house is big and it really needs work. Good luck with it and be safe.

Thanks! Yes, there is a lot of work to be done, but i am sure most of us know what is feels to have 12 hours or more of screen time. So far it's been a very welcome change and i can already tell the difference. For example a much less degree of agoraphobia.

Change is always nice and I'm glad you see some results. Good luck!

Looks like a big job and could be lots of fun modernizing this. I am sure your gran would be happy that you are doing something and stopping the garden from reclaiming the back of the house.

I am in no rush, so this is pleasing... Well i am kind of in a rush to build a bathroom inside of the house lol

On he other hand, it is quite healthy to loose access to conveniences for a short time, it's wonderful how little time it takes to start appreciating simple things when you loose them but otherwise take for granted.

So far i'm still $1500. dollars in the red here on steemit from buying steem when it was over $5.00 Oops! Not the best timing there by me. I would love to contribute to restoring this house. Looks like a lot of work but i can see it looking really nice in the future. : ) Sorry i can't do more to help

No worries mate! It will be back 5 and more, it's not about collecting money for restoration, but maybe you'll enjoy following and reading it! :) I could have sold for 8 :) I did not, no regrets :D
