Stopping to Smell the Flowers in Panama - Soulful Sunday by A Panama Mama

in #photography7 years ago

We took a walk around the neighborhood the other day and I wanted to share with you the pictures of the flowers I found. Most of them have a beautiful color and are pretty enough for a bouquet of flowers on the table. They all grow wild, no one takes care of them. Seeing all these beautiful flowers reminded me of a great Bible verse where Jesus tells us not to worry. What good does worrying really do?

Matthew 6:25-34

25Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

26Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns—and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
IMG_6837.JPG
27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his lifespan?
IMG_6850.JPG
28And why do you worry about clothes? Consider how the lilies of the field grow: They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these.

30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
IMG_6857.JPG
31Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
IMG_6864.JPG
32For the pagans pursue all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.

That last verse sums it up nicely. Today has enough trouble of its own, why add more to it by worrying about tomorrow. This is a perfect reminder as we are all frantically trying to finish our Christmas shopping and worrying about getting the perfect gift.

Enjoy today. Stop to smell (or just look at) the flowers!

You know, this particular scripture is still very unknown to many christains around the world today. Little wonder why many go on looking for things GOD already provided.

This is a wake up call. Thank you so much.

Thanks for stopping by! Yes, so thankful for God's provision in my life.

Great, thanks!

You've upgraded "stop and smell the flowers" to "stop and smell the flowers then make photos and turn into a Steemit blog". Nice work!

Keep harvesting the Steem! Hugs from Panama City.

Lol! Yep - everything is a potential Steemit blog. ;) We usually just blow past the flowers, but that day, we took the time to look at them. There's so many pretty ones out there!

Leave all worries to God he will get them sorted out nice one @apanamamama

Very true and so hard to actually do it. I don't know why it seems easier to carry our worries ourselves and tell God how to fix them.

Hope your Sunday was peaceful. Followed.

Thanks - Sunday was peaceful, Monday, not so much! ;) Now I'm trying to catch up on my posts. Need to get over and catch up on your Israel ones! Do you have another trip anywhere planned soon?

Morocco in April. I’m already excited about it.

Oh nice! That will make for some great steemit posts! :)

Thanks for the reminder. Very nice post. Wonderful read, and beautiful pictures. God Bless :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and the comment. :) Blessings!

It's always good to stop and reflect every chance you get. Too many people don't... and need to.

Yes, sometimes it's hard to stop in the busyness of life! I have walked by the flowers so many times and this time around, we took a long time to walk and look at each flower.

Thanks for stopping by! :) Hope you have a great week!

nice flowers. i think only the last 2 looks familiar to me

Thanks for stopping by. The 4th picture is a Poinsettia and the 5th one is an orange blossom. It smelled amazing. I wish I could bottle that smell. I'm not sure what the last two are. Some kind of weed! ;)

you're welcome.
I think one is the african orchid. I couldn't remember the last one.

Oh nice, thanks. I'll have to check that out. Someone told us the last one was good if we had a cold. Boil it and breathe in the fumes. They're really tiny and cute.
