lol! I'm surprised you don't have a big dog annephilbrick. I know they're alot of work and aren't cheap to feed but great companions and add an element of security.

I used to have a dog โค..!!! His name was Rastis. It broke my heart so much when he passed... I haven't entertained the thought of another. Maybe someday...

I know what you mean. Mrs. J. didn't get a dog for 20 years when she lost hers. That's a great name, does it mean something or what is the story behind it?

There is a story..!!
I was knew I was getting a puppy and told a friend of mine that I was and asked her to help me think of some name ideas for him. She was living in North Carolina at that time. Her landlord's first name was Rastis and she really thought it was a great and very different name. I liked the name idea immediately...!!!!!!
It was sooo very different.
My dear friend passed away from ovarian cancer 5 years ago ๐.
Rastis passed away from complications due to epilepsy. He was a the most fantastic smartest and loyal dog ever !!!!!โค He was part Golden Retriever and Rough Collie. Beautiful..!! He had alot of Collie features.

Rastis sounds like such a fantastic dog! With the coolest name. That's a great story. Was he old when he passed away so you got to enjoy each other for a good amount of time?
I've heard so many great stories of Christians who passed away but came back because they were told it wasn't there time yet, and many talk about seeing their dogs and cats in heaven!
I believe it, I think that's just how much God loves us.

He was 9 years old when he passed away. I wish I could have spent more time with my friend and could have been at her side. She had moved so far away and I couldn't be there.
I truly hope to see both Rastis and my friend Cora who named him in Heaven..!!!๐

Howdy today annephilbrick! So you had each other for 9 years but he was still taken a little early wasn't he? I'm not sure how long dog's lifespans typically are and if it varies for each breed.
Oh, I've read so many great testimonies about our pets that I'm convinced. One man who had died and was in heaven with an angel showing him around said that when his dog, who had passed away, came running up to him he was overjoyed of course but said to the angel.. this couldn't be because dogs don't have spirits.
And the angel corrected him and said "That's not true. They DO have spirits, they are just a different TYPE of spirit." That always stuck with me because of course God could make animals with spirits of a different type.
I think God made dogs and cats just for us as special companions so it makes sense that He would provide a way for us to be together forever. I just see it as another sign of how much He loves us.
Call me crazy but there are many animals in heaven mentioned in the Bible and some of the most authentic and trustworthy testimonies made a believer out of me. lol.

God is awesome..!!! I do have and have always believed animals go to heaven. If and when I arrive and I don't see them I'm turning around and leaving....๐๐..!!
