Wild and free

I recently had an opportunity to trek a piece of seemingly wild open land, full of little wildflowers I had not encountered before! What a fortunate opportunity, indeed!! 😊

Hence, I shall be posting some of the little ones I met along the way... such as this one here...

An almost thistle-like flower... maybe one of the same family, perhaps?
These are about 1-1.2cm in size each bloom
Shot these while the day was turning to late evening, and the sky a little gloomy... which seemed to go well with these thorny looking flowers
They seem to all have that same brownish bit in the middle - not sure if they were drying up from the centre, or naturally like that

The plants themselves grow upto a height of about 4 ft, like the first and second photos above, and they also bloom while the plants are low on the ground, ie. new young plants
This one I found close to the ground, only about a foot or two high
