이슬람교가 국교인 쿠웨이트에는 모스크가 많다.
모스크라는 이름은 아랍어의 '마스지드'에서 유래하였으며 '마스지드'는 아랍어로 '이마를 땅에 대고 절하는 곳’을 뜻한다.
널리 알려진 대표적인 모스크는 The Grand Mosque라고 불리우는데 쿠웨이트 시내에 위치해 있다.
돔의 지름이 26 미터이며, 2만명을 넘게 수용할수 있다고 한다.

There are many mosques in Kuwait where Islam is a state religion.
The name Mosque comes from Arabic 'Masjid' and 'Masjid' in Arabic means 'Place your forehead on the ground'.
The most famous mosque is called 'The Grand Mosque' and is located in the City of Kuwait.
The dome is 26 meters in diameter and can accommodate more than 20,000 people.
