Some aircraft on the Intrepid Aircraft Carrier and Museum
In this previous post, I showed shots of the Intrpid Aircraft carrier and museum and said I also had some shots of some of the aircraft to share and that's what I will do in this post

I have been on the Intrepid and toured the Museum a few years back and it is something I really enjoyed and on my to do list to do again before I finish working in NYC
From looking at this page to try and identify the aircart I think this is the Grumman E-1B tracer, but as I said I am no expert and I could be wrong

Not totally related to the aircraft but about the Intrepid itself, it was one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers built during World War II for the United States Navy, she was torpedoed once and hit by four separate Japanese kamikaze aircraft—earned her the nicknames "Decrepit" and "the Dry I".
This next shot is an aircraft I could guess the type easily the Grumman f-14 Tomcat, it was a giveaway with the name on the side ;)

Want to have your post on the map too?
I don't think they had a blackbird on there when I visited. I remember they had a concord off to the side in one of the other spaces. Is the submarine still there too?
I will let you know when I get to visit and go onboard hopefully soon these weeks taking from the toad beside it
Man and machine really intertwined throughout life, these are lovely displays in one place, so glad you went back to take another look.
Stealth plane looks all fired up which makes an excellent photograph.
Thanks I really need to actually go onboard and visit the museum soon
I enjoyed seeing the aircraft carrier and the planes. Both my sons were Navy men and the photos brought back many memories. :-)
Cheers I am glad this post triggered nice memories
