RULES & HOW TO PLAY
For Show Off Saturday we would like you to share your best animal photos, mammals or birds, whether it’s wildlife, your own pets, or that squirrel that keeps breaking into your birdfeeder.
- Choose a picture (it must be your own) that relates to the theme.
- Post a picture in the comments section of a "Photo Star" Competitor’s post
- Each Photo Star will nominate 2 of the images for the final round of voting.
Final round is done amongst all Photo Stars. - You can share a different picture for each PhotoStar (Optional).
This increases your chances of a win, however only one Win/Prize per game. - Deadline is Monday at 6PM EST / 11PM UTC.
- @PhotoGames will do a results post.
The Photo Star will usually share their nominations in the comments. - Photo Stars win points based on how their nominations place after voting.

1st place = 3 Steem
2nd place = 2 Steem
3rd place = 1 Steem
4th/5th = .5 Steem each

My present entrance with a portrait of a marine iguana. This lizard remains unchanged for several million years only on the Galapagos Islands.
Despite its frightening appearance, marine iguanas are herbivorous reptiles.
The basis of their diet is seaweed and plants. To get themselves food, iguanas sometimes dive to a depth of 10 to 15 meters, where juicy stems are torn off. They also scrape off algae from coastal stones, using sharp teeth for this. With algae, a significant amount of salt enters the lizard's body, to get rid of which the iguanas have a very unusual way: they sneeze, throwing salt out with the flow of air.

I gave you the most challenging animal photo I have in my portfolio. It took many attempts of my father standing next to me throwing bread in the air for us to get this shot. Team work!
It was shot on the coast of Oregon.

Here's my Peacock...
Beautiful! Have you ever stopped to think about just how amazing it is that a bird like this exists?
Aren't they just wonderful, we have wild ones that get around in our village. We don't see the males around much anymore but we had these girls at the front door a few weeks ago, they ended up spending the day here hanging out in my front yard :)
We also have this guy getting around at the moment too, a new addition to the neighborhood. At first we thought it was a baby peahen/peacock... but as it started to get colour, it wasn't quite right. We found out its a Lady Amherst Pheasant (which is not native to Australia), it is believed to be an escape from an Asian household who would have more than likely eaten it! At the moment he has been nicknamed Chook Chook (not by us) and he visits a number of our properties. It will be interesting to see what he ends up doing. I took this photo 10 days ago, he's coloured up a lot more since then. Nearly all his brown feathers have gone now and his tail feathers are starting to grow.
But this is what he'll end up looking like...
I think he's going to be pretty spectacular too!

Haha, this is my best friend's little lady. She's the sweetest most loveable little girl. Her brother is a bit hyperactive, but she usually just wants snuggles.
Oh no! But as a consolation, she can probably pick up radio stations from across the Pacific with that thing!
I love the tenderness of this picture as my son held one of our baby chicks.

What, you're not so keen when they grow up? They have such great personalities - though roosters can be a bit of a pain...
Oh, they have wonderful personalities when they grow up - they become more interesting, but decidedly less cute (in my opinion). ;) Although nothing like the transformation that occurs to guinea-fowl.
