ABOUT THE PHOTO
For my assignment, I'd like everyone to explore the color temp and tints perhaps a little farther than you would normally go. But be careful not to go too far. I'd like it to still look natural. If your skin tone is getting a little too crazy, don't be afraid to use the masking brush tool to bring back the skin tones.
Hint to get a nice "neon" style: the use of Oranges, Reds, Yellows, and certain Greens work great. Bring down the color temp and play with the tint to a comfortable level. Have fun with it! I can't wait to see the colors you guys make!
Here are a few examples to help you out and see what colors are behind the edits.
RULES & HOW TO PLAY
So here’s the game, above is a photo(s) that I want you to recreate. The main thing I’m looking for is editing style, BUT the more you match the location, lighting, composition, and editing style the better chance you have at winning. The goal is to make your photo/style look exactly like mine. Simple enough, right?
1- You can write up a blog post on your page and share the link in the comments below OR simply share your photo in the comments.
2- Deadline is Sunday at 5PM MST.
3- Photo can be a new one or an old one you already have.
4- Don’t forget to play on other Photostars blogs too
5- Max points allowed per person for this game is 30

A little something different. Played with tints/colors on the background instead of a face hopefully that's still your style.

i think that if you use the power of imagination to remove all the noise i managed to generate because i normally shoot 1-2 stops underexposed this end up being a cute neon image

You're going in the right direction! I know it's weird to play with the tint, but I've happened across some of my favorite edits by messing around. This is lovely! And so is she! I like what you did with the eyes.
Thank you... I know it is a lot more subtle than all of yours... I saved lots of images and there's some that I love but they didn't suit enough for your post so I've now got some pretty edits of this photo : ) I love how we're challenged to do things we may not usually do. Maybe I'll have to keep working on this idea and style... and I probably need to get educated in better editing programs, actually not probably, I do! : )

Still not how I make my edits. I stay out of Photoshop and just use the tools in Lightroom. But this is still wonderful! I love your creativity and how you made your own way of it. This is a cool look! And it's totally different than the first edit you posted too. Keep playing!
Yes I have heard people are using Lightroom, with a little Photoshop on the side sometimes. I've never even looked at it. My son keeps telling me I need to learn it... I'll have to have a look. Thank you... I shall : )
It's easy once you start playing around and get the hang of it. Adobe has a monthly subscription of Lightroom and Photoshop for $10/month. Pretty good deal.

Not sure how I did but that definitely pushed me to edit in a different style than I'm used to. Fun game!
Love it! The reds are awesome! When I'm going for this look I'll try to use a warmer light on the face initially, which helps keep out the magenta tones when you go into the edit. ;)

Dang, you're so good at that purple pink tint. I definitely struggle to make it look that natural!
