Believe

Nearly every year, Reno artists Jeff Schomberg and Laura Klimpton spell out a word (or words) with large letters, often related to that year's theme.

The letters themselves are forged of welded steel, with laser cutouts of birds – a symbolic nod to Laura's father, whose moment of passing was marked by a flock of birds, simultaneously flying by his window.

'Believe' made it's debut on-playa in 2013, measuring 12 feet high, 70 feet wide and 4 feet deep. The theme that year was 'Cargo Cult.'
