Always looking before they step
Rocky and slippery shorelines are something that everyone should take their time on and looking before you make that step is a necessary aspect to ensure you don't end up on your arse. Don't get me wrong it happens to us all every once in a while - 'tis just life. No doubt it happens to more people than others though.
Chinstrap penguins though have a system, as they waddle along head down for a few moments to scout their next few steps then hopping from rock to rock before stopping and checking their close surroundings before head down once again. They are renown as the mountaineers of the penguin world and this method of walking along rocky and slippery shorelines and up hills/small mountains is quite the method to overcome these huge obstacles.
